Tasting Room Associates (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Position: Tasting room Associate

Department: Wine shop

Reporting to: Wine shop Manager

Effective Date: April 2020

Basic job purpose:

To offer customers the best tasting experience possible and deliver on the sales and club acquisition goals

Primary job responsibilities:

·        Achieve Frind Estate Winery Standards

·        Daily Procedures

·        Other duties as requested by, or in conjunction with your direct Supervisor

Specific job duties (with standards):

·         Achieve FEW Standards

o   Ensure and provide customer service at the FEW Level of service

o   Ensure guests are assisted with whatever is required

o   Adhere to the company standards

o   Have an in-depth knowledge of FEW products

o   Participate in regular training sessions

·        Daily Procedures

o   Process orders and sales using POS system

o   Ensure individual cash outs are balanced, accurate and signed by Supervisor at the end of shift

o   Daily opening and closing procedures

o   Restock stations and inventory as needed

o   Ensure wine shop and areas are always clean and presentable

·        Other duties as requested by, or in conjunction with, Direct Supervisor.

Skills / Competencies / Knowledge / Education required:

·        Serving it Right Certificate

·        Retail or hospitality serving experience preferred

·        Intermediate knowledge of wine (WSET 1 or ISG level 1) or equivalent preferred

·        Ability to work well as a team member, with combined efforts focusing on guest satisfaction as a priority

·        Works well in high pressure situations and ability to multi-task

·        Well spoken and comfortable speaking in front of groups

·        Excellent customer service and communication skills

·        Ability to focus attention to details.
