We are growing our team and are looking for a VINEYARD TECHNICIAN, based in Kelowna area, to join the Frind Team. If you have the following experience, please submit your resume today! The VINEYARD TECHNICIAN maintains and runs vineyard monitoring, and related equipment, helps with irrigation, tractor operations, and all other R & M in the Vineyards.
Job Duties:
- Monitor the vineyard health for disease, deficiencies, stress and report potential problems to the Viticulturist, Vineyard Manager.
- Conduct an up-to-date inventory check to assure stocks are adequate.
- Report any potential problems in the vineyards, equipment or other resources to Viticulturist and Vineyard Manager.
- Monitor and understand moisture levels in the soil as it relates to the stage of vine development.
- Maintain and track all tools and supplies as related to his/her's assigned tasks. Communicate any shortages or overages to Viticulturist & Vineyard Manager.
- Continuously look for ways to improve by suggesting cost savings, time savings, quality enhancements or safety improvements.
Qualifications:
- 2 years minimum experience.
- Previous experience on vineyard crew.
- Basic knowledge of vineyard operations and horticulture.
- Basic knowledge of WCB regulations, WHMIS and Health & Safety.
- Good estimating ability and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible working schedule.
- Good record keeping ability, interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills.
- Good physical condition.
- Equipment familiarity required.
- Tractor operation experience a bonus.
- Pesticide Applicator Certification an asset.
- Must have a valid Drivers License and transportation.
- Basic Spanish language an asset.
