A Unique Opportunity:
Mission Hill Family Estate Winery is recruiting passionate, energetic, and motivated employees as vintage cellar hands to assist in producing world class wines in one of the Okanagan’s largest and most sophisticated wine production facilities. The job will entail many aspects of wine production including packaging, cellar work, cleaning, general labor, and grape processing.
This position requires that you have a flexible schedule, rotating between days, afternoons, and some graveyards from mid-August until mid-November, or as required.
You are always committed to working in a safe and professional manner. You bring a strong work ethic and have experience working in wineries, production, or in a warehousing environment. Working conditions vary, but you must be comfortable working in the general plant, warehouse, outdoor receiving areas, and damp cellar conditions. Most importantly you are a positive and enthusiastic team player who has a passion for wine.
Position Requirements:
- 2+ years of general labour experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Harvest experience considered a strong asset
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Passion for wine and wine production
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Physically fit, able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, navigate stairs, stand for extended periods of time
- Must have an excellent standard of safety, work performance, and attendance
- Able and willing to work indoors and outdoors in varying environments and conditions
- Able to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Available for all days and shifts, including weekends, evenings, and graveyards
Bonus points…
- Production and/or safety-specific certifications
- Forklift Operator’s Certificate
- Level III Industrial First Aid
- Previous experience working in harvest in a large production facility
Wage: $15.50/hr + $1 in lieu of benefits
