The Role:

The role of the Key Account Manager, MB is responsible for forecasting, building promotional and sales plans, managing customers to meet sales plan targets as well as managing the Field Sales Team.  This role is expected to work with specific internal and external stakeholders to drive sales in Manitoba through strategic and focused portfolio management.

This position’s objective is to manage day to day needs of the market and the sales team; to secure provincial listings, marketing approvals with the overarching goal of increasing the sales of Arterra Wines Canada’s portfolio in both volume and dollar share while positioning Arterra Wines Canada as the core supplier and preferred partner in this high-profile position.

  • This role has direct responsibility for achieving annual sales volume plan and delivering an accurate forecast.
  • Utilize the Arterra Wines Canada selling methodology to grow volume, sales revenue and market-share while generating strong EBIT and ROI.
  •  As the key contact and subject matter expert this role will facilitate and manage strong communication with internal and external stakeholders as required to ensure delivery of plans and promotional strategies. This includes but is not limited to forecasting, new product applications, marketing applications, competitive promotional tracking, and managing the field sales reps.
  • This position requires thorough knowledge of MBLL, policies, regulations, and people/positions within their organization.   
  • The KAM will be responsible for the development of the MBLL Strategic Account Plan, identifying opportunities and risks and developing category strategies to deliver sales volume so as to outperform Arterra Wines competitors.
  • The KAM will secure and cultivate strong relationships with key MBLL contacts as a preferred supplier and trusted resource.
  • This role will take a proactive and collaborative approach with internal departments such as Customer Solutions, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Consumer Insights to drive MBLL results and maximize opportunities.
  • The KAM will create, build and deliver persuasive fact-based category presentations with detailed analysis to support.
  • The KAM is responsible for all aspects of the NPD process for the MB market. Including, timely presentation and negotiation of new product listings with MBLL.
  • This position will prepare and conduct detailed reviews of portfolio performance on a monthly basis, including bi-annual business reviews per category with both the customer and our internal team.
  • The KAM will lead the annual planning process for the MB market.
  • Overseeing inventory for MBLL, leveraging the Sales Operations Manager, to influence buying requirements and patterns with MBLL.
  • Managing inventory and forecasting projections to satisfy demand of targeted executions.
  • Conducting post promotional analysis.
  • Setting and managing yearly goal setting and monthly targets for the Field Sales Team.
  • Coaching and development of the Field Sales Team.
  • Coordinating and Participating in industry related events such as the Winnipeg Wine Festival.

Job Requirements:

  • A University Degree or Comparable. (Primary Focus on Business, Sales and/or Marketing)
  • A track record of success in a similar role with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • WSET or ISG Certification an asset.
  • Key Account Management experience at a Head Office Level
  • Proven Experience or Certification in Sales and Negotiation.
  • Strong analytical skills, and polished presentation abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers and peers.
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, driven and disciplined.
  • Computer literacy, including the ability to create and modify PowerPoint presentations, Word and Excel documents as well as effectively utilize web-based tools and resources.
  • Proof of valid Driver’s License will be required.
  • Genuine interest and passion for the beverage alcohol industry.
  • Must be able to lift wine cases weighing up to 45 pounds.
