Lightfoot Farms / Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards is searching for a Vineyard Supervisor to welcome onto their team as they continue to grow this local success story.

As a valued addition to the D&M Lightfoot team, the Vineyard Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the general day-to-day operations of a 40-acre organic vineyard.

The ideal candidate is someone who has 5+ years of relevant supervisory experience, can prioritize tasks and manage multiple employees over several different job sites. As many of our vineyard workers are temporary foreign workers from Mexico, the ability to speak Spanish would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities 

Responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and supervise the work of vineyard workers.

• Develop work schedules and establish work procedures to be followed.

• Train workers in duties and policies.

• Ensure farm safety and biosecurity procedures are followed.

• Recognize and treat certain viticultural issues. 

• Manage and drive employee safety programs.

• Supervise and oversee grape production. 

• Perform general farm duties as required.

• Operate and maintain farm machinery, equipment and buildings.

Equipment and Machinery Experience:

• Tractors

• Forklift

• Sprayer

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

• Fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work well under pressure.

• Ability to withstand long workdays on your feet.

• Ability to work in both hot and cold climates.

• Ability to safely lift and move heavy objects.

Other Required Skills:

• Vineyard experience is considered an asset.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Excellent oral and written communication.

• Organized.

• Ability to speak Spanish is considered an asset. 

 

Reports to: Farm Manager / Owner

Mandatory Attire: Steel toed footwear
