Seasonal Position with Potential for Year-Round Employment
Vasanti Estate Winery is seeking a Cellar Hand to join our team for the 2026 harvest. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of winery production while working closely with a small, dedicated team focused on producing premium estate wines.
For the right candidate, this role has the potential to develop into a year-round position with increasing responsibility within the winery.
About Vasanti Estate Winery
Vasanti Estate Winery is a family-owned winery located in Oliver, BC, focused on producing small-lot, estate-grown wines. Our approach emphasizes attention to detail, careful vineyard management, and maintaining high standards throughout the winemaking process.
As a small production winery, team members are involved in a wide range of activities and have the opportunity to contribute throughout the growing season, harvest, and cellar operations.
Responsibilities
Fruit Processing
- Assist with fruit intake, sorting, crushing, destemming, and pressing
- Operate and clean harvest equipment
Fermentation Management
- Monitor fermentations, including Brix and temperature tracking
- Perform pump-overs, punch-downs, inoculations, and additions
- Assist with fermentation management and daily cellar activities
Cellar Operations
- Racking, transfers, barrel work, and tank preparation
- General winery maintenance and organization
- Equipment cleaning and upkeep
Sanitation & Record Keeping
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe cellar environment
- Complete accurate and detailed cellar records
- Follow winery SOPs and safety procedures
Requirements
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Attention to detail, particularly regarding sanitation and record keeping
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a small team
- Physically capable of lifting, moving equipment, and working extended hours during harvest
- Previous cellar or winery experience is an asset but not required
Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude are valued as highly as previous experience.
