Job Description
Cloudsley Cellars is a small craft winery focusing on producing premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation.  We are dedicated to crafting exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the vineyards we work with.  We’re seeking a passionate and skilled Assistant Winemaker to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Assistant Winemaker to join our dedicated team.  The ideal candidate will work closely with our Head Winemaker in all aspects of wine production, from vineyard management to bottling, with a particular focus on our signature Chardonnay and Pinot Noir programs.  This role offers a unique oppurtunity to contribute to the creation of world-class wines while developing expertise in cool-climate viticulture and traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques.

Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
•  Assist in all stages of wine production, including harvesting, crushing, fermentation, blending, aging, and bottling.
•  Monitor and manage fermentation processes, ensuring quality and consistency.
•  Assist with vineyard sampling and yield estimation.
•  Participate in sensory evaluation and blending trials.
•  Maintain winery equipment and ensure a clean, safe, and organized cellar environment.
•  Support inventory management of winemaking supplies and finished wines.
•  Assist with special events, tastings, and tours as needed.

Qualifications:
•  A degree in Viticulture, Enology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•  2+ years of hands-on experience in a winery or cellar environment.
•  Strong understanding of winemaking processes and chemistry.
•  Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions.
•  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•  Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
•  Proficiency in winery software (e.g., Vintrace, Innova) is a plus.
•  Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift is required.
•  Passion for wine and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
