Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our team as a cellar hand for harvest season 3-4 month contract (mid-August - end of November) & help us maintain 30+ acres of vineyard on an 80 acre Estate just outside of Grand Bend. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and sterilizing winery equipment and tanks

• Transferring, racking, blending wine/juice

• Carrying out various additions/inoculations

• Barrel operations: filling, racking, topping

• Operating various filtration equipment

• Pump-overs, punch downs, red drain and presses

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized cellar

 

Job Requirements: 

• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

• Able to lift 50lbs and able to work at heights

• Willing to work shift hours and extended hours during harvest

• Outdoor maintenance experience is a plus

• Forklift training and experience is a plus

Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or appropriate job experience.

  • Experience as Cellar Hand

  • Experience with groundskeeping of farming is an asset

  • Valid driver's license an asset

  • Proficient in using manual and power tools safely

  • Ability to follow instructions

  • Ability to work cooperatively and in collaboration with others

  • Available to work extended hours and overtime in a flexible work environment

  • Physically fit, agile and dexterous. This is a physically demanding job, repetitive tasks, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending/crouching and kneeling for extended periods.

  • Must be able to work in Canada 

  • Ability to communicate and read English.
