Job Overview
The Opportunity
We are seeking passionate, energetic and experienced Cellar Hand & Lab Technician to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to join our internationally award-winning wineries and contribute to the development of Lake Country as a wine region.
Reporting to the Winemaker, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Winemaking Team at both O’Rourke Family Estate and Peak Cellars wineries with the production of 19,000 cases of premium wines. We are known for our hand-crafted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling, as well as Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Rosé and Traditional Method sparkling wines.

What You'll Do
- General cellar work and barrel work
- Bottling
- Vineyard/maturity sampling
- Data entry and analysis
- Assist with vineyard reporting
- Fruit receival and processing
- Tank and fermentation management
- Laboratory/daily wine analysis/accurate record-keeping
- Digging out tanks and pressing pomace
- Sanitation
- Vineyard work as needed
Requirements
What You Bring
· Relevant degree in Oenology & Viticulture, Cellar Assistant, or similar, preferred
· Minimum 2 years of hands-on cellar and lab experience required
· Forklift operating experience (BC training can be provided if not already certified in BC)
· Ability to work safely in busy production environment, both indoors and outdoors, around equipment for long hours, including weekends and statutory holidays
· Ability to maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, following all workplace safety procedures and protocols
· Excellent attention to detail and quality
· Ability to lift 25 kg and be able to be on feet for long periods of time
· Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to move between wineries as needed
· Non-residents must already hold a valid Canadian Work Permit or Permanent Residency status
