Job Overview
We are searching for a full-time cellar hand to join our team on the Beamsville Bench!
This is a terrific opportunity to work in a well-equipped winery, performing many tasks associated with the goal to make premium VQA wines with several varieties grown in Niagara.
Responsibilities:
This hands-on position involves every aspect of wine production from crush pad to bottle, working closely with the Winemaker and Assistant Winemaker.
This position would entail (but not be limited to):
- Cleaning equipment, barrels and tanks.
- Operation of crush pad during harvest.
- Managing and executing cellar tasks including additions, pumpovers, transfers, barrel work, filtering, cleaning, etc.
- Working on bottling line.
- Operating forklift and maintaining warehouse (as needed).
- Packing wine orders and making deliveries (as needed).
Requirements
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Previous winery experience not required.
- It would be considered an asset to have a Diploma in Enology or related field; and/or previous experience in wine production of premium wines.
- The successful candidate will be reliable, organized, hardworking, and motivated.
- Great communication skills, a positive attitude, an attention to detail, and willing to be an active member of our team concept.
- The successful candidate must also be able and willing to work long physical hours during harvest as required (September through November), including weekends.
- Eligible to work in Canada, have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift 50lbs, and able to climb a ladder.
