Job Overview

French Door Estate Winery is a boutique estate winery located in the heart of the South Okanagan. We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Cellar Hand to join our team for the 2026 harvest season.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, physical role working primarily in the cellar alongside our winemaker. We're a small, collaborative team and value flexibility. While the primary focus is cellar work during harvest, employment may extend into other areas of the winery including vineyard operations, additional cellar work, and tasting room opportunities depending on the season and the candidate's interests and strengths.

Responsibilities

  • Cellar operations including pump-overs, rack-and-returns, blending, filtration, and bottling
  • Cleaning and sanitizing tanks, barrels, hoses, and equipment
  • Monitoring fermentations and assisting with lab tasks as directed by the winemaker
  • Vineyard work including canopy management, irrigation checks, and harvest picking (as needed)
  • Tasting room support during busy periods (as needed)
  • General winery maintenance and upkeep

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Physical fitness and comfort with repetitive, hands-on labour
  • Previous cellar, agricultural, or hospitality experience is an asset but not required — we're happy to train the right person
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying temperatures (cold cellar to harvest heat)
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
  • A genuine interest in wine and/or viticulture
  • Valid driver's licence an asset

Compensation

Competitive, commensurate with experience.
