Job Overview
Customer Liaison & Sales Consultant for a complete line of Winemaking products in the winemaking regions of Ontario. Qualified applicants should expect to work largely unsupervised using excellent time management skills under the direction of the company Sales Manager. Since the job entails travel within the Ontario wine regions, predominantly the Niagara, Prince Edward County, and southern Ontario wine regions the successful applicant would ideally be living in St. Catherines, Ontario area and posses a valid drivers license and a suitable vehicle. The office and warehouse is at 380 Vansickle Rd. St. Catherines, Ontario and the head office is at 1043 Richter St. Kelowna, BC
Responsibilities and Duties
Job Description:
- Engage in the Canadian wine industry in a sales and product consultant role for multiple premium quality alcoholic beverage supply companies including Laffort, AEB, Innerstave, Francois Freres, Demptos, Parker, Filtrox and many more.
- Responsible for customer development and sales, supplier relations, sales forecasts, winemaking trials, and technical support.
- Experience and Product knowledge on current industry-standard technical winemaking ingredients, French and American oak barrels, oak barrel alternatives, laboratory chemicals/supplies and winery/cidery cellar equipment/supplies.
- Propose winemaking solutions and ingredient/product suggestions to winemakers through bench trials with free ingredient samples, depending on the issues encountered and/or the winemaker’s individual style goals. Follow through with outcomes of suggestions and/or bench trials to optimize product use and winemaking practices.
- Discuss and brainstorm winemaking concepts and practices with industry professionals to increase our company awareness and overall wine quality in the Canadian wine industry.
- Developing or maintaining existing strong relationships in the Ontario winemaking community via personal interactions and participating in industry events. Such events would include industry tradeshows, supplier site visits at local wineries, supplier manufacturing facility tours, supplier new information seminars and hosting winemaking technical seminars for the local winemaking community.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years experience in commercial winemaking.
- In-depth knowledge of winemaking science, processes and practices including current winemaking ingredients and technologies used by winemakers from Harvest to Bottling.
- Great people skills,
- High level organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with a small, motivated team,
- Experienced use of Excel, Word, Outlook and other business software
