Job Overview

Trail Estate Winery is seeking a Harvest Assistant for the 2026 Season.

Trail Estate Winery is an exciting and dynamic winery located in Prince Edward County. We make many zero additive wines like pet nats and orange wines as well as classic Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We farm our vineyard sustainably, growing premium grapes on beautiful limestone soils.

We are looking for passionate harvest winemaking with at least 3-5 years experience for our harvest. This a contract/ term position (10-12 weeks) starting early September, until late November with the possibility for extension depending on the season.

Roles and Responsibilities:

You will be working hand in hand with our Winemaker on all aspects of the winemaking process throughout an intense harvest season. 

Grape receiving, tracking, traceability of all grapes processed

Equipment setup, operation, and sanitation of all winemaking equipment

Juice/Wine movement. transfers, racking, filtration, barrel filling and stacking

Possibility of some very basic lab work for juice and wine analysis

General winery hygiene and maintenance on tanks, barrels, fermenters, other winery equipment, and the facility as a whole

Requirements

Eligible Candidates are required to/be:

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Adherence to safety and operational procedures and company policies

Ability to lift 25Kg regularly

Able to work in a dynamic fast paced team environment

Ability to problem solve

Communicate effectively with others

Ability  to work long days and extended hours

Have previous winemaking or harvest or vineyard experience.

Have a valid forklift license would be an asset, however not required.

Own transportion is a necessity. 

Have an outstanding mind set and eager to learn.

More Information:

As we are a small winery with a very small team, the ideal candidate will have a positive attitude. There will be many odd jobs required, but plenty of experience. Physically the candidate will be able lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods of time and work outside in varying weather conditions. Schedule is ~12 hours per day, 6 days/week.

Compensation

Compensation commensurate with experience. Shared accommodation may be provided.
