Harvest Cellar Hand

Domaine Artema is a new winery on Black Sage Rd. in Oliver, BC focusing on Beaujolais-style wines (mainly Gamay and Chardonnay). We are a small-medium sized winery, producing approximately 5000 cases a year. Our approach to winemaking involves long-term planning, craft and artistry.
Our method allows the unique character of each wine to reveal itself in its own time as a delicious snapshot of the terroir, meant to be shared now and for years to come. Created with the wine enthusiast in mind, our wines are built to age gracefully yet remain perfectly drinkable upon release.

We are looking for a Harvest Cellar Hand for our 2025 vintage. The position will start August 1, 2025 and run until December 1, 2025.

Responsibilities:

·           Setting up and sanitizing tanks and crush equipment

·           Receiving, processing, sorting, and pressing of grapes

·           Fermentation management

·           Racking and inoculations

·           Preparing and filling barrels

·           Cleaning and sanitizing of pumps, tanks, and barrels

·           Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment

·           Other duties as required.

Qualifications: 

·           Forklift driving certificate is an asset

·           Winemaking or viticulture education is an asset

·           Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on quality, accuracy, and timeliness

·           Willingness to learn

·           Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·           Excellent attention to detail

·           Ability to lift 50 lbs

·           Must be able to work 6 days a week and longer hours

 

Hourly rate is between $20-$23 per hour, dependant on experience.
