Job Description
We are seeking HARVEST CELLAR HANDS for our upcoming busy season. This exciting opportunity is temporary from approximately mid-August to the end of January 2027, with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent position upon completion of the contract. The contract period includes the regular harvest season from August to November 2026, and the Icewine harvest season from December 2026 to January 2027.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up and sanitizing tanks and crush equipment.
- Receiving, processing, sorting, and pressing of grapes.
- Racking and inoculations.
- Preparing and filling barrels.
- Cleaning and sanitizing of pumps, tanks, and barrels.
- Wine transfers and additions.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to perform continued physical activity, including standing for extended periods of time, walking, pushing and pulling. Ability to safely climb ladders and catwalks repeatedly.
- Must be able to work longer and varying hours during harvest.
- Previous harvest experience.
- Previous forklift driving experience.
- Degree or diploma in oenology is an asset.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
