Job Overview
We are a cool-climate Winery dedicated to producing expressive, site-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Our philosophy centers on meticulous vineyard work and Cellar practices with a minimal-intervention winemaking that highlights vintage and terroir focused on the Twenty Mile Bench. We are seeking a motivated Harvest Intern to join our team for the upcoming vintage.
This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with a small production team through one of the most exciting and demanding times of the year.
Requirements
The Harvest Intern will assist with all aspects of harvest and cellar operations from fruit intake through fermentation and barreling down. This role is ideal for someone passionate about premium wine production and interested in cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay winemaking.
Harvest is fast-paced, physically demanding, and highly rewarding. Long hours, weekend work, and flexibility are expected during peak harvest periods.
Key Responsibilities
Vineyard & Fruit Intake
- Assist with grape sampling and maturity tracking
- Receive and process Pinot Noir and Chardonnay fruit
- Sorting, crushing, pressing, and tank transfers
- Operate sorting tables and assist with logistics during picking days
Fermentation & Cellar Work
- Punch-downs and pump-overs for Pinot Noir fermentations
- Juice settling and barrel fermentation preparation for Chardonnay
- Monitoring fermentations including Brix and temperature checks
- Cleaning and sanitizing tanks, hoses, pumps, and cellar equipment
- Barrel cleaning, filling, topping, and maintenance
- Racking, additions, and general cellar organization
General Winery Support
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the winery
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols
- Assist the winemaking team wherever needed during harvest
Qualifications
- Previous winery, vineyard, farming, brewing, or food production experience is an asset but not required
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work long hours on your feet in a physically demanding environment
- Comfortable lifting 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Reliable transportation and flexible schedule required

- Small-lot Pinot Noir fermentation management
- Whole-cluster and destemmed fermentation techniques
- Chardonnay pressing, settling, and barrel fermentation
- Harvest logistics and fruit quality evaluation
- Practical cellar operations in a premium cool-climate winery
- Exposure to vineyard decision-making during harvest
Position Details
- Season: August – November (flexible depending on harvest timing)
- Location: 3795 Victoria Ave, Vineland Ontario L0R 2C0
- Compensation: Hourly wage based on experience
- Schedule: Full-time seasonal with extended hours during peak harvest
