Job Overview

Unsworth Vineyards is looking for a full-time, permanent Lab and Cellar Technician to join our wine production team. This position is primarily lab-focused but will also support cellar and bottling operations as required

Located in the burgeoning and idyllic region of the Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, our winery is focused on producing premium, cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sparkling wines in a brand-new facility completed in 2025. In addition to working on Unsworth wines, successful candidates will assist in custom crush winemaking and experience multiple winemaking styles. Requirements

The successful candidate will:

·         Have experience working in a wine lab.

·         Have a passion for cool climate wines (especially the above-mentioned varieties/styles).

·         Be legally allowed to work in Canada (please note that only applicants who already hold a valid Canadian work visa or are Canadian citizens/permanent residents will be considered).

·         Be available to work long hours, evenings and weekends during peak seasons.

·         Have a “can do” attitude, honest, reliable and hard-working.

·         Be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.

·         Work well independently and with a team.

·         Have excellent attention to detail and record keeping skills

·         Have good time management skills.

Preferred, but not mandatory qualifications:

·         Cellar experience for minimum of 1 harvest.

·         Forklift operating experience.

·         BSc., diploma or certificate in winemaking or related science field.

Compensation

Compensation:

·         $24+ hourly, based on experience
