The Opportunity

We are seeking a driven, hands-on professional to join our Winery Technical Services division. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of operations, technology, and customer service, and is motivated to build and grow a high-performing service offering.

The Role

This is a dynamic position combining field-based technical work with administrative planning and equipment maintenance. The candidate will oversee mobile winery services while actively operating and maintaining specialized wine processing equipment.

Reporting directly to Senior Management, you will play a key role in shaping the direction, efficiencies, and growth of the department to its full potential

Key Responsibilities

Technical Services Leadership

  • Manage day-to-day mobile winery service operations
  • Develop, implement, and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Plan and execute service schedules and logistics
  • Optimize performance and control costs
  • Ensure accurate job tracking and supply management with key data to support invoicing
  • Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of all technical assets

Secondary Responsibilities

Equipment Management & Field Service

  • Commission new winery equipment at client sites
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in the field
  • Provide technical expertise and support to winery clients

Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain all required certifications, inspections, and documentation pertaining to the Mobile Services Department
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all operations

Industry Engagement & Team Development

  • Act as a brand ambassador, strengthening relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Identify new business opportunities

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Legal: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, if required, provide proof of work authorization.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in a winery or beverage production. Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or project management role is a strong asset
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of wine processing equipment and production workflows
  • Soft Skills: punctual, organized, values the importance of maintaining a clean and professional workspace at all times
  • Wine Knowledge: Familiarity with winemaking principles, sensory evaluation, and basic lab analysis is an asset
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Enology, Viticulture, Agribusiness, or a related field is preferred but not required
  • Certifications & Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license with a willingness to obtain mobile equipment transport licensing
    • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
    • First Aid and WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain)
    • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing software

Working Conditions

  • Physically demanding, hands-on role in a winery environment
  • Exposure to varying temperatures (cellars, production areas, outdoor conditions)
  • Extended hours may be required, particularly during harvest (vintage)
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., hoses, cases)
