Job Overview

Bar Manager

Responsibilities

-            Hire, train and manage bar staff

-            Train all staff on general spirits and cocktail knowledge

-            Create fresh innovative, original cocktails, utilizing flowers, fruits and herbs from the chef’s garden and our estate sparkling wines

-            Experience with traditional espresso machines is preferred

-            A passion for cheese

-            Participate in and help plan ongoing training (food, spirits, cocktails, wine etc)

-            Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and local businesses to create synergies at the Restaurant Vineyards to provide our guest with a one-of-a-kind experience 

Qualifications

-            A valid Serving It Right certificate

-            General wine knowledge is required; certification from WSET, The Court of Master Sommeliers or The International Sommelier Guild is preferred but not required.

-            Minimum of 3 years bartending experience. Previous management experience is preferred but not required.

-            Ability to stay organized and efficient during busy shifts

-            Positive, collaborative attitude

-            Must be available to work weekends and holidays

-            1-2 years bartending experience

-            Ability to follow cocktail recipes, quickly and efficiently

-            Experience with traditional espresso machines is preferred

-            Work collaboratively with the kitchen and service teams to provide a unique guest experience

Tasting Room Sales Associate –  

Job Description: The Tasting Room Sales Associates are responsible for executing ultimate guest experience through guided purchases, intimate tasting experiences, and group tours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·       Greet guests in a friendly and timely manner and explain our experience offerings of the day

·       Organize and plan for reservations via Tock

·       Wash and polish glassware in a timely manner

·       Clear, clean, and reset tables in a timely and efficient manner

·       Communicate well with other team members, always operating with a time mentality

·       Conduct tasting and tour experiences from start to finish in a friendly and professional manner

·       Speak in depth about our wines and winemaking practices

·       Keep pace in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality of service

·       Conduct group tours of the property Qualifications

·       A passion for wine

·       A valid Serving It Right certificate

·       Previous experience in the service industry, using a Point-of-Sales system

·       WSET or BC Wine Ambassador courses a strong asset

·       Ability to lift and carry 40lb cases of wine

·       Must be available to work weekends and holidays

·       Ability to speak French an asset

·       Ability to adapt to different situations and events as needed

Details Report to: Karen Newington, Hospitality and Wine Club Manager, and Jaclyn Kilkenny, Assistant Tasting Room Manager

Hours: Average 25-40 hours/week (4-5 days), including most weekends Wage: $18-$21/hour plus shared tips – paid bi-weekly
