Job Requirements

Experience;

  • three years minimum experience in beverage/wine sales
  • experience should be in the Southern Alberta area
  • post secondary education is preferred
  • level 2 WSET is preferred

 

Skills and attributes;

  • Skilled at closing the sale.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional presentation and recognized ability for persuasive sales.
  • Leadership and ability to influence major accounts.
  • Ability to analyze statistics for targeting sales.
  • Ability to set and execute high standards of performance.
  • Advanced organization and planning skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Is a self starter.
  • Working knowledge of Exel, Powerpoint, Canva is an asset.

Gundog Estate is regarded as one of the Hunter Valley’s most innovative and high-quality boutique wine producers. We are seeking passionate and motivated vintage cellar hands to work during our 2026 harvest, commencing mid-January.

Specialising in Semillon, Riesling, and Shiraz, and processing around 250 tons, Gundog Estate works with top quality vineyards in the Hunter, Hilltops, and Canberra Districts. As such, this is a great opportunity to further your knowledge and skills in a quality-focused environment, exploring a spectrum of styles and vineyard sites.

The role will encompass all vintage-related cellar work, vineyard sampling, and some laboratory procedures. Applicants will need to be able to work well with a small team, have prior cellar hand experience, and be passionate about quality winemaking, with a strong eye for detail. Applicants should also note that this is a role which involves extended hours and weekend work.
