Job Overview

Parkway Liquor Store is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Store Manager to lead our small but fast-paced boutique liquor store, located in the heart of UBC at Marketplace Mall. With a strong reputation as the “destination shop” on campus, Parkway offers a curated selection of cold craft beer, quality wine, and premium spirits. We proudly serve a loyal and diverse customer base, including UBC students, faculty, and residents of the surrounding community.
What We’re Looking For:
You are:
  • Independent, responsible, and trustworthy
  • Detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills
  • Passionate about leadership, customer service, and team development
  • A strong communicator who enjoys sharing product knowledge with customers and staff
  • Experienced in LRS supervision or management (minimum 2 years required)
  • Motivated to grow and excel within a progressive and expanding company
  • Certified with Serving It Right and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Fluent in English
Preference will be given to candidates with a background in fine wine. WSET certification and/or Cicerone training are considered strong assets.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mature, professional leadership and maintain a positive store environment
  • Hire, train, and develop staff with a focus on customer service excellence
  • Oversee ordering, inventory management, and product merchandising
  • Monitor and achieve monthly financial and sales targets
  • Ensure high daily operational standards and effective store procedures
  • Support marketing and promotional initiatives when required
