Tasting Room Associate

About the Role

Township 7 Vineyards & Winery is seeking a confident and personable Tasting Room Associate to join our team for the upcoming season. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a guest-focused environment and enjoys connecting with people through storytelling, service, and sales.

As a Tasting Room Associate, you will lead guided wine tastings, create memorable guest experiences, and drive wine and wine club sales. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to confidently engage with guests from a wide range of backgrounds.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead engaging and educational wine tastings for guests.
• Deliver a high level of hospitality and create memorable guest experiences.
• Share knowledge of Township 7 wines, vineyards, and winemaking practices.
• Actively promote and sell wine, merchandise, and wine club memberships.
• Process transactions through the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
• Support overall tasting room operations and guest flow during busy periods.
• Assist with winery events as required.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or sales.
• Confident, engaging, and comfortable speaking with guests from a wide range of backgrounds.
• Sales-minded with the ability to promote and recommend products naturally.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must meet the legal age requirement for liquor service in BC (19+).
• Valid Serving It Right (SIR) certification, or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
• Available to work weekends, statutory holidays, and occasional evenings during peak season.

Assets:

• Wine education is an asset. WSET Level 2 or BC Wine Ambassador Level 2 are preferred; candidates with Level 1 in either program are also encouraged to apply.
• Previous tasting room or winery experience.

What You Get

Hourly Wage: $19–$21 per hour, based on experience

Gratuities: Full participation in the tasting room tip pool, in accordance with the winery’s tip distribution policy.

Wine Club Bonus: $30 bonus for each wine club sign-up, paid in accordance with the winery’s standard bonus schedule.

Staff Wine Discount: 40% discount on Township 7 wines purchased at the winery. Available to staff who are 19+ years of age.

Schedule: 20–35 hours per week. Full-time hours typically available June through August. Includes weekends, statutory holidays, and occasional evenings.

Experience: The opportunity to build experience in wine, hospitality, and sales in an established Okanagan winery setting.

Environment: A dynamic, team-oriented workplace at an established Okanagan winery.
