About Us
Big Head Wines is an independently owned, family-run winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake focused on producing expressive wines and delivering thoughtful hospitality experiences. We are a hands-on team that values professionalism, reliability, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality.
We are currently looking for motivated and dependable individuals to join our hospitality team in Tasting Room Associate and Steward roles.
Position Overview
These roles support the daily operation of our tasting room and hospitality experiences. Depending on experience and strengths, team members may focus more heavily on guest-facing hospitality or tasting room support operations.
Successful candidates are team-oriented, professional, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Requirements
Tasting Room Associate
- Lead engaging and educational wine tastings
- Provide warm and professional guest hospitality
- Recommend wines and assist with retail wine sales
- Build relationships with guests and wine club members
- Process transactions accurately through POS systems
- Support winery events and hospitality experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the tasting room
Tasting Room Steward
- Prepare and polish glassware
- Reset tasting areas and tables efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of hospitality spaces
- Restock wine, supplies, and service materials
- Assist with dishwashing, bussing, and event setup/teardown
- Support the tasting room team during busy service periods
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Smart Serve certification required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Weekend and holiday availability is required
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, retail, or winery experience is considered an asset
- Wine knowledge or interest in wine is considered an asset
