Job Overview
Lightning Rock Winery is looking for an experienced, organized, people-first Tasting Room Manager to lead our tasting room for the 2026 season.
We are an award-winning, family-owned winery in Summerland, producing premium still and sparkling wines, with a strong direct-to-consumer focus and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We take our wine seriously, but not ourselves.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the tasting room, delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing staff, and driving wine club and DTC sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily tasting room operations
- Lead, schedule, and support tasting room staff
- Deliver warm, engaging, and knowledgeable guest experiences
- Drive wine sales and wine club sign-ups
- Oversee POS, orders, and reporting using Commerce7
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional tasting room
- Work closely with ownership on promotions, events, and customer experience
- Assist with inventory coordination and customer follow-up
Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Proven tasting room or hospitality management experience
- Strong working knowledge of Commerce7 is essential
- Confident with wine sales, customer service, and team leadership
- Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure
- Comfortable talking about wine without being pretentious
- Social media skills are a strong asset and can lead to additional paid hours
Compensation
Schedule & Compensation
- Seasonal position: May 15 – October 15
- 5–6 days per week (flexible depending on the applicant)
- $22–$25 per hour, based on experience
- Plus tips
- Additional hours available for candidates with social media or marketing skills
