Job Overview
The right candidate would be responsible for representing and increasing the sales of all Banville brands, following the philosophies and style of the Tolaini-Banville family. Responsible for day-to-day communication with key on-premise and private client customers; updating needs and expectations in areas of allocations, depletions, marketing programs, and product placement. Additional duties include participating and supporting trade events and special promotions, while always acting as an ambassador of the supplier and company.
Market Sales Work (85%)
• Increase sales and distribution by developing, cultivating, and maintaining strong relationships with key buyers.
• Provide exceptional support to accounts by participating in tastings, staff trainings, dinners, events, etc. as needed.
• Communicate in a timely manner any inventory or delivery issues to customers, along with updates on allocations, vintage rollover, and any pricing changes.
• Ensure supplier market visits are productive and effective by coordinating and confirming dates and agenda in a timely manner.
Administrative (15%)
• Effectively organize and plan your work week utilizing all tools, insights, and goal priorities available.
• Input orders in a timely and efficient manner, following established procedures and adhering to deadlines.
• Attend sales meetings, annual portfolio tastings, and other company events.
• Provide feedback on current market issues, challenges, opportunities, and competitive activity.
• Manage account receivables, and following up as needed on unpaid invoices.
• Identify new business opportunities throughout the territory.
Requirements
Education/Experience: College degree or equivalent experience plus. Experience in restaurant hospitality and / or wine retail sales an asset. This is a relationship based role and the territory may not be defined by geography.
Skills: Must be an effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including being a strong listener. Must be comfortable with public speaking and presenting to large audiences. Must possess strong organizational skills to ensure proper sales follow-up and customer service. Good PC skills (MS Office, Outlook, etc.). Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently while also working collaboratively with the team. Must possess a high level of integrity, with strong time management skills.
Knowledge: Passion for and extensive knowledge of Domestic and Import wines.
Ohter: Must have a valid Driver’s license in Ontario. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
