Tractoriste and Vineyard Technician

Terravista Vineyards and Roche Wines are artisanal-scale, family-run wineries located on the Naramata Bench. We strive to produce exceptional wines through careful, hands-on farming using organic practices whenever possible.

The Tractoriste and Vineyard Technician will play a key role in the hands-on farming of approximately 50 acres of vinifera grapevines on multiple sites near Penticton. The Tractoriste/Technician will also be required to provide vineyard services to clients of Terravista/Roche.

This offer of employment is on a full-time, seasonal basis from March through September and may be extended during harvest and winemaking according to demand.

Responsibilities

●       Operation and maintenance of tractors and vineyard equipment: sprays, cultivation, mechanical weeding, mowing, hedging, seeding, harvest logistics

●       Transfer of tractors and equipment between various vineyard sites using truck & trailer

●       Weed and pest control

●       Canopy management: all operations from pruning to harvest

●       Observation and reporting of vineyard health and needs

●       Detailed record keeping for vineyard operations: equipment used, inputs, hours, location

●       Vineyard infrastructure maintenance – post/trellis/fencing/irrigation maintenance and repairs

●       Vineyard replanting operations and logistics

●       Winery/cellar/bottling operations as required
