Job Overview
The Grange of Prince Edward Estate Winery is seeking 6 reliable and physically capable Vineyard Workers for seasonal employment at our vineyard operations in Hillier, Prince Edward County.
The successful candidates will perform a variety of vineyard and grape-production duties throughout the growing and harvesting season.
Main Duties
- Assist with pruning, thinning, tying and training grapevines.
- Tying down canes for winter protection
- Control of weeds and unwanted vegetation.
- Monitor and maintain grapevines and crops throughout the growing season.
- Harvest grapes by hand and place harvested grapes into containers or bins.
- Manually leaf strip
- Clean and maintain work areas, hand tools and basic agricultural equipment.
- Perform general vineyard and agricultural duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requirements
Employment Requirements
- No formal education, degree, certificate or diploma is required.
- Previous vineyard or agricultural experience is an asset but is not required.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
- Must be physically capable of performing repetitive and physically demanding agricultural work.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch and kneel for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and handle agricultural materials and containers weighing up to approximately 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Must be reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work early mornings, weekends and holidays when required by vineyard operations.
- Must be willing to work irregular hours, as required
- This is a remote location, your own, reliable transportation will be required
- Housing is not provided
Compensation
Hours: 40–60 hours per week. Actual hours may vary depending on weather, crop conditions and operational requirements.
Schedule: Work schedules may include early mornings, weekends and holidays depending on weather, crop conditions and vineyard operations.
Employment period: April 4, 2027 to November 15, 2027.
Work locations: The Grange of Prince Edward, Hillier, Ontario.
Vacation and statutory holidays: In accordance with applicable Ontario employment standards.
