Job Description
Unsworth Vineyards is seeking a Vintage Cellar Hand for the 2025 Vintage.

A last-minute change in staffing has opened up this opportunity with the potential to extend into a more permanent role for the right candidate.

In addition to working on Unsworth wines, successful candidates will assist in making Blue Grouse wines as their production joins us at the winery. We offer a dynamic workplace with passionate, thoughtful and expert colleagues offering opportunities for learning and development. 

Located in the burgeoning and idyllic region of the Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, our winery is focused on producing premium, cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sparkling wines. Unique to the 2025 vintage, you will also be working in the inaugural vintage of Unsworth’s cutting edge winery facility!

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will:
• Have a passion for cool climate wines, (especially the above-mentioned varieties/styles).
• Be legally allowed to work in Canada.
• Be available to work long hours, evenings or weekends during peak seasons.
• Have a “can do” attitude, honest, reliable and hard-working.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
• Work well independently and with a team.
• Have excellent attention to detail and record keeping skills
• Have good time management skills.

Preferred, but not mandatory qualifications:
• Cellar work experience
• Forklift operating experience
• BSc., diploma or certificate in winemaking or related science field
• Trade skills: plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, etc.
• Laboratory skills

Compensation: $22-$24 / hour
Location: Mill Bay, BC
Duration: minimum 8 weeks with potential to extend.
