Job Overview
Blasted Church Vineyards is hiring cellar hands for the 2026 vintage. With the early start to the 2026 growing season, this position will likely start late-August for the sparkling wine harvest and run until the end of November.
Working with our cellar team, the vintage cellar hands will be involved in all aspects of the harvest from grape sampling on through processing, racking, inoculations, barrel work, and cleaning, lots of cleaning! We have a collaborative work environment; everyone’s input is important, and we are all keen to learn something new.
The vintage experience will be diverse as we work from the sparkling varieties to the early aromatic whites through Viognier, Gamay Noir, the Bordeaux and Rhone reds, and some less common varieties. Along with the wide range of fruit, we will also incorporate many different processes, experiments, and techniques into the vintage to keep things exciting.
Requirements
Have a valid SIN or work permit number.
Be detail driven, energetic, and an efficient team player.
Be passionate about wine.
Be punctual and reliable.
Be able to lift 55 lbs.
Possess some mechanical aptitude.
Be able to work inside and outside at cooler temperatures.
Be able to work at heights.
Be available for shift work - including weekends and evenings.
Applicants with previous cellar experience and education will be given preference, but if you have a passion for wine and a work ethic to match, we will certainly be happy to discuss the position with you.
Having a valid forklift license is an asset, but not a necessity as we are able to provide certification.
Compensation
$22 to $24 per hour plus overtime
