Job Overview
WHO WE ARE:
Synchromesh Wines is a boutique, family run winery that focusses on exploring our unique and complex vineyard blocks through the lens of Riesling and Cabernet Franc. We farm over 30 acres of vines ranging from the North end of Naramata to the Golden Mile in Oliver with the bulk of our vineyards situated on 107 acres in Okanagan Falls. We are looking for one or two enthusiastic, friendly and energetic wine lovers to join our team this season. This position can be full-time or shared between two part-time team members, depending on availability. There is growth opportunity for the right person.
JOB DUTIES
• Lead curated Tasting Experiences, providing exceptional customer service and one-on-one attention to all guests. You would share the winery story along with the in-depth philosophy behind the wines and vineyards.
• Ensure all guests to the winery are greeted in a timely manner. Effectively and efficiently triage guests to provide the best possible experience for all visitors to the property.
• Promote all wines and Wine Club membership
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently
• Support with packing and shipping of orders.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the wine shop, office, and all public areas.
• Set up and break down tasting area for daily operations.
• Stock inventory and replenish supplies as needed.
• Assist with winery and wine club events, on-site and potential off-site.
• Other duties as required to support our small but specialized winery team.
Requirements
WHO YOU ARE:
• Passionate about wine and its farming.
• Proven hospitality skills – comfortable entertaining groups of guests.
• Detail-oriented with self-management skills
• BC Serving It Right-certified
• Wine-educated (WSET or equivalent), but still likes to have fun with it
• Able to stand and walk for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Able to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays
Compensation
$22-25/hour depending on experience
