Who We Are:

Vasanti Estate Winery is a family-owned and operated business that opened our tasting room in June of 2024. Previous to making wine, our family was supplying premium quality grapes to wineries across the Okanagan Valley. We believe in investing within the team members we hire and strive to provide a culture within our tasting room that excites individuals to be a part of it. Our focus is to showcase our wines with passion and enthusiasm while living our values everyday.

Wine Storytellers will deliver exceptional wine experiences. This role is perfect for individuals who want to engage with guests in a premium, boutique tasting lounge, while conducting educational wine tastings. This role will also play a pivotal role in maintaining our brand image within the tasting room, as well as supporting other facets of the business. Additionally, this role supports the learning of all team members and is responsible for driving tasting room, and wine club revenue.

Core Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement: Greet guests warmly and deliver personalized and educational wine tastings in a premium tasting environment.
Wine Experiences: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Vasanti's wine portfolio and our story, providing tailored tasting experiences to each guest.
Sales Operations: Handle transactions accurately, including tasting room purchases, as well as packing and shipping wine club and online orders.
Team Collaboration: Foster a learning environment by assisting and educating other team members on wine related topics in conjunction with leadership.
Event Representation: Represent Vasanti at on-site and off-site events, including festivals and winery-hosted functions.
Maintaining the Tasting Room: Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, as well as the presentation of all wine, merchandise and food.
Inventory Management: Maintain records of wine used during tastings and assist with inventory control.
Growth and Development: Striving to learn more about all things wine and constantly challenging yourself to improve in how you show up for your team.

Your Qualifications:

Formal wine education (WSET 2, ISG, CMS) is an asset.
Valid Serving it Right certification or willingness to acquire is required.
2+ years of experience in a customer facing role, preferably in the wine industry.
FoodSafe certification is an asset.
Experience with Commerce 7 is an asset.
Experience with Tock is an asset.
Excellent communication, as well as fluency in English.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Availability to work evenings (until 8pm), weekends, and holidays.
Must be at least 19 years old.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 40 lbs.
Passion for wine and eagerness to learn more about the industry.
