Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Winemaker / Vineyard Manager to lead all winemaking operations and guide our vineyard program across multiple Fraser Valley sites. This role oversees the full lifecycle of wine production — from vineyard planning and grape quality management, to crush, fermentation, aging, bottling, and final release — ensuring our wines reflect the distinct character of the Fraser Valley and meet the highest standards of craftsmanship.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on production leader with strong technical expertise, a creative palate, and a deep respect for cool-climate viticulture. You bring both skill and vision to the cellar and vineyard, and you thrive in an environment where quality, teamwork, and innovation drive the winemaking process.

Requirements

Winemaking & Production Leadership

  • Oversee all aspects of wine production, including harvest planning, crush, fermentation management, blending, stabilization, aging, and bottling.
  • Develop and execute annual production strategies aligned with brand and business goals.
  • Continuously refine and improve wine quality through innovative techniques and best practices.
  • Experienced in winemaking still wines and sparkling wine. 

Vineyard

  • Manage 4 different vineyards, 43 acres total all located in Langley. Participate in vineyard planning, canopy management decisions, crop estimates, and harvest timing & spray program. 
  • Manage relationships with a few grower from the Okanagan Valley.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control protocols across all stages of production.
  • Ensure compliance with BC Liquor & Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB), Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and WorkSafeBC requirements, BC Growers association, CRA reporting, Inventory, tracking when wine is moved from excise warehouse to retail or for delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for traceability, lab analyses, and regulatory documentation.

Team Leadership 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cellar and production team, promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate staffing for harvest and year-round production needs, including seasonal workers.
  • Ensure vineyard and cellar workers are well trained regarding different processes and that they respect all the safety protocols. 

Cellar  & Vineyard Equipment Management

  • Oversee cellar workflow, sanitation programs, and equipment upkeep to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Manage inventory of supplies, additives, barrels, tanks, and packaging materials.
  • All equipment is properly used and maintained during the year. Annual Maintenance checklist.

Sensory Evaluation & Brand Representation

  • Conduct regular tastings, blending trials, and sensory assessments to maintain style consistency.
  • Collaborate with marketing and hospitality teams on product launches, winemaker dinners, events, and media opportunities.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for the winery
  • Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Oenology, Viticulture, Food Science, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive winemaking experience, ideally in cool-climate or BC wine regions.
  • Strong understanding of viticulture, fermentation science, and cellar operations.
  • Proven ability to manage production teams and oversee large-scale seasonal workflows.
  • Excellent sensory evaluation skills and a commitment to producing high-quality wines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including during harvest and bottling periods.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in cellar environments.
