Assistant Winemaker

Arrowleaf Cellars is a family owned and operated winery located in Lake Country, BC. We specialize in the production of cool-climate wines, 90% of which are grown in the Okanagan Valley’s newly created Lake Country sub-GI. We harvest around 150-200 tons annually with a 60/40 split of white and red.  The main grape varieties we work with are Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Bacchus, Chardonnay and Zweigelt.   We are looking for an assistant winemaker to join our team in creating exciting wines that will showcase the best our terroir has to offer. 

Core responsibilities

• In conjunction with the winemaker, coordinating and executing day to day winemaking operations such as grape receival, crushing/pressing, racking, lees filtration, monitoring fermentation, blending, fining, filtration, cleaning/sanitation, and bottling.
• Maintaining records on wine operations and volume measurements.
• Performing lab analysis and preparing blending and fining trials.
• Participate in sensory analysis and blending trials.
• Participate in trade/media and consumer events.

Job requirements

• Degree in Oenology, Viticulture or
• Winery/Viticulture Technician diploma with a minimum of 3 years cellar experience
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Must be legally permitted to work in Canada
• Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs
• Must have a valid driver’s license
