Tasting Room Associate

We are looking for an energetic and friendly candidate for Tasting Bar Associate at Domaine Queylus, a small, premium winery located atop the Niagara Escarpment in St. Anns. The ideal candidate is professional, enjoys a fast-paced work environment, and has a passion for wine service.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet visitors in a timely and welcoming manner
• Provide exceptional customer service from start to finish
• Conduct wine tastings: pouring and describing our wines, discussing the winemaking practices that make Domaine Queylus excellent
• Conduct group tastings
• Assist customers with sales, and upsell guests on wine purchases
• Prepare and serve light food offerings, as required
• Serve food at private events in addition to wine service
• Sign guests up to our mailing list
• Sign guests up for our Wine Club
• Perform opening and closing duties
• Operate retail point of sale, including credit card, debit card, and cash transactions
• Maintain cleanliness of the winery
• Wash and polish glassware, ensuring they are clean and spot-free
• Set up and tear down events as needed
• Packing and shipping orders

Preferred:

• Bilingual (English and French)
• Food Handlers
• WSET II or higher

Required:

• Smart Serve
• Able to be on feet majority of shift
• Able to lift 18 kg (40 LBS)
• Available to work weekends and holidays
• 19 years of age or older
• Provide guests with an educational wine tasting experience
• Must be proactive: able to identify jobs and get them done without being told
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Wine knowledge and an interest in developing wine knowledge
• Previous experience in Hospitality is an asset
